'Americanah' by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (Review!)

Image
Hey readers! I'm back with a book review this time. Expect another review on Saturday! I have a posting schedule now, Tuesdays and Saturdays!!!!! So anticipate. Okay, let's get into this review!!!! Americanah is a wonderful story. I loved every single moment of it. Chimamanda has a special flair in her writing and it surely appeared in this one. Hmm... where do I start? Okay, let's talk about the plot itself. This story was a love story, to say the least. Yes, it did address underlying issues within Nigeria, America, and even Britain; but it was a love story. It was a romance between Obinna and Ifemelu. Yes, that's exactly what it was. If you like love stories definitely read this one, because that is the meat in this soup of a story. Dang, I'm really trying to not spoil it for you, but that might happen. I'm sorry, I hope you can forgive me. Anyways, this story starts in Lagos, Nigeria. The time period wasn't mentioned exactly but judging from the

Time: The Kalief Browder Story (Review)

Now when I tell you that you aren't mentally prepared to hear this story, I'm not exaggerating. This story is a horror story for black people. I watched this maybe 2  weeks ago and I still feel hurt and terrified because of what happened to this young boy who isn't here with us today. You could just look at Instagram and see the news about him, but you won't see what REALLY happened. I advise you to watch "Time: The Kalief Browder Story" on Netflix. This review is not the normal review that I would give you and not spoil anything. I'm going to give you details. I'm going to make this an educational resource for those who don't have Netflix and aren't able to learn about this boy's story. I am going to mention that Jay-Z was an executive producer of this documentary. The other one that I know of... I'd rather not mention their name. Anyways, Kalief himself could not be a physical part of this documentary because he was murdered. Wel

It's literally been a year! I'm back though, I am finally here again and this time I'm going to be even more consistent. Forgive me for forgetting about you blog. Let's blog our way back to glory, agreed! Now I have so much more content for you, now that I've been reading more books due to our current situation. I would like to address it here. From Corona Virus to heightened emphasis of the Black Lives Matter movement to the Yemen Humanitarian Crisis, the world is going through a lot. I want to do my best to help in the little way that I can. Now, since I am THE REVIEW QUEEN I'm pretty sure that I can also do reviews for series and movies. This provides resources about the things going on in this world. I myself am a person from the Black Community, but not in America though. So I can also say that I am also learning about the struggles of the Black Community in America as well as coming to terms with the struggles of the Black community where I live.
