"Birthright" by Adenike Lucas (Requested Review!!!)

Hey readers!!!!! Today I’m back with something very very special. This is my first REQUESTED REVIEW!!!!!! It’s kind of the equivalent of a lifestyle blogger’s brand deal except I’m not getting paid…yet ๐Ÿ˜. Anyways, I’d like to acknowledge the author that reached out to me with such a pleasant piece of literature. *DRUM ROLL* Adenike Lucas!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was the very first author to reach out to me with his book, Birthright. Told you I had something special planned ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Let me just tell you something now now. This book right here is beautifully written. At first I thought I would have to call out the confusion in time eras and all of that, but all of that is explained later on. Nothing is out of place here, everything is perfectly explained and written. Look man, Imma need you to buy this book immediately after this review because you are in for a sweet sweet treat. Also, I’m not sure if this is a spoiler alert but there are some very scary things that happen in this book. Although, once you finish the book the fear seems to leave because the ending provides immediate closure for you. Okay, shall we? YES, WE SHALL!!!!

It was a dark and stormy night in 1858 (sounds clichรฉ but no I’m serious๐Ÿ˜‚), this was set in Virginia obviously during slavery. Why is this night so important? Yeah, Imma let you read the book to see the significance in this part because this is technically the main reason everything happened the way it did. Anyways, back to the story. On this night a group of 7 sisters were planning to escape their plantation, Glory Hill (remember this).  They were almost ready to go until the youngest one of them went into labour.  She went into labour too early and she was so so young. Usually, when a young one is trying to have a baby it doesn’t go well. That’s no different from this case folks, except it went so so so so so so wrong! In literally every way, but you’ll need to read the book to figure that out ๐Ÿ˜‰. Obviously, they can’t leave the sister there dying on the floor so they gotta stop everything to help her. It was obvious that she was going to die though, but they were determined to save the baby. Read the book to find out how ๐Ÿ˜‰. I totally left you on a cliffhanger with that one ๐Ÿ˜‚, but just to keep you grasped…Sunta and Mary were the names of two of the sisters (just remember). Oh and another thing, when you're reading, if you don't understand the second language spoken, remember that it's Yoruba.  Anyways let’s fast forward into the future like Tesla’s exist future. We meet a girl. A very beautiful, self-centred, and IMHO foolish girl. This girl got sooooo many issues, I don’t even know where to start from man.  Well, I might as well start with the word man.  She got a husband, but she acting like she doesn’t and I’m like…. BRO! She really cheated on her husband with his arch-nemesis. It’s not like her husband didn’t love her, she just wanted attention and I’m like…. BRO! Oop I might as well tell you the girl’s name. She’s not that irrelevant, she’s not irrelevant at all ๐Ÿ˜‰. She’s literally the basis of this story, her name is Medallion. Very beautiful and probably talented girl. I would ride with her vibe if she didn’t have such bad characteristics. Her husband’s name was Waymen, and her side guy’s name was Rodney.  She’s pregnant and doesn’t know who the father is. I have half the mind to tell you, but I’ll save it for you to read the story. Oh, and I was just about to end it, but let me tell you a bit about Rodney. This guy did not even love Medallion one bit. He was playing with her as much as she was playing with Waymen. So inconsiderate and downright mean! She really went into labour on his couch and he literally pushed her out the door and was angry about HIS COUCH!!!!!! Smh readers, smh. On that note, you may not know a lot about Waymen, but he’s a good guy. Read the story to learn a lot more about him๐Ÿ˜‰ .

I want to really acknowledge Adenike Lucae for this beautiful book that she wrote and reached out to me of all people too! I’m honored!
