'Sunset in Biafra' by Elechi Amadi (Review!!!)

Hey readers, your girl is back with another review!!! This time it's a book review and you are going to love this one. Shall we? (Please note that the picture is edited to look grungy. Thank you!)

Sunset in Biafra is such a credible source to see what happened int he Biafran war. Even though it's a bit opinionated and from one person's point of view, you actually get t a side of the story you probably have never heard before. Bear with me, as this is not a story, it will be a pretty short review.

This is a real account of Elechi Amadi's experience during the Biafran war. He was a general who just recently resigned his job before all hell broke loose. Within this book you learn a few things about Nigeria back then and how everything came about. You get to know the exact words used by the leaders at the time, and a few reasons for the tensions in Nigeria at the time. You get to see Elechi Amadi's journey from when he was captured several times to having to claim the name of general once again in the fight for his country. He went from general to common man to bedridden prisoner back to general. Now isn't that an experience. You might even say a history lesson😉. You get a firsthand insight on what the Biafran war was like for him and what he had to go through. Not only what he had to go through, but what everybody around him had to go through. The best part is that you kind of get an insight into every category of person in the Biafran war, if that makes sense. You get to see life from the common man's point of view. You get to see life from the prisoners of war's point of view. Lastly, you get to see life from a leader's point of view. I enjoyed this story very much and I know you guys will too.

Y'all already know I'm a historical fiction junkie, so you know I'm on anything that goes with history. This is even better because it's real. The fact that it's real doesn't make it boring whatsoever. It makes it 10 times more interesting because all the crazy things that happen in this book are also real. Amazing!!!! Elechi Amadi really did well on this book and I give him props for being able to recount his experience so well. I hope you get this book and read it just like I did! I highly recommend this for my history junkies out there, and for the people who just like a good story. Remember to stay wise, woke, and beautiful!!!!!!
