Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Another classic by the fabulous Chimamanda. As you can probably tell, I love her so much. She's a good influence to people everywhere. Okay now about the boooook!!!!!!!!!!! (We'll definitely talk about her again though👌).

Now I could write a whole book about this book, which would be turned into a movie. That’s how amazing this book is. It has class and it gives you new opinions. When I read this I was in absolute awe. I would love to give you a deep analyzation of this book. So why shouldn’t? Let me stop rambling and get started on this.

Purple Hibiscus is a storyyyyyyyy!!! Like honestly you guys need to read this book, you would love it just as much as I did. It was full of climaxes like at every single point. Just going up and down and up and down. Most times it was just peaking, like a heartbeat machine where the heart rate is just peaking and doesn't go down. Then towards the end, the biggest climax happens and you know what I may have hinted at it but you should read it and let me know if you hinted at it too. Now if I told you what happened, that would be a spoiler wouldn't it be. So let's keep that between me and the book, you could figure it out if you read the book though.😉

The story is obviously set in Nigeria (in case you haven't seen the trend occurring😂). So let me summarize just a little now.

This glorious story is centred on a girl (Once you read the book you will know her name😁). She is one of two siblings in her home. Although this home wasn't any ordinary home, it was a Catholic home, but not any regular catholic home. It was an overzealous Catholic home. What I am trying to say is that if they weren’t Nigerians, they could have been the people who came to Nigeria to spread the word. This girl and her family followed every rule to its maximum level. Now, who I really had a problem with was her dad, and I can't explain that in more details because that would be a major spoiler. The author is writing about a time before ours but not that far in the future. Let’s say between the 1990s and early 2000s. It took place after the Biafran war as well. These people could very much still be alive today, assuming they were real.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is the author of this story and I love her so much. She has an amazing writing style that is so original. It sucks me into her books and refuses to spit me out of it. I know she is a motivational speaker right now and is representing Nigerians to the max around the whole world. She’s international. I have read ‘Half of the Yellow Sun’ and ‘The Thing Around Your Neck’ (Look out for a review on that😉) by her. They were also just as amazing as this book.

The main idea of this book is pretty warped. You could say that it’s “Don’t let people use you” or “Fight back” but, it’s really neither. To me, the idea of this book is to open our eyes. I never really knew about life right after the Biafran war. I didn’t know that much about the Catholic religion before this. This book opened my eyes very wide to see further that I could really imagine. This book is very believable because it’s real life. These things do happen and they still do. It’s just that people didn’t know that before it happened.
What I can truly say is this book was an eye-opening tale and I loved it. I hope sometime you get to read it as well.

Woahhhh.... I went in on this one, I gave you more detail than I think I ever will. Well, maybe I didn't... Honestly, at this point, I'm not sure. I just really hoped you enjoyed this one😊❤.
